The D'Institute clinic in Cluj-Napoca

D'Institute is a dental clinic in Cluj-Napoca, in the Grigorescu neighbourhood, at Str. General Eremia Grigorescu 51. The treatment rooms, radiology and the dental laboratory are all in the same building, so everything from the X-ray to the final restoration happens in one place. The clinic has been open since 2018.

The treatment rooms

Each room has its own purpose: one for prosthodontics, where Dr. Cătălin Dimir works, one for root canal treatment under the microscope, one for surgery and one for general dentistry. Impressions are taken with an intraoral scanner, not with impression paste.

The dental lab in the building

Crowns, veneers and D'Original full arches are made in the dental laboratory in the clinic building. For you, this means:

  • your restoration is tried in and adjusted on the spot, without being sent to another city;
  • the dentist and the technician choose the shade together, with you there;
  • in suitable cases, after assessment, a crown can be made at the same visit, so you go home with your new tooth.

We have worked with the lab in our building since 2018.

Radiology at the clinic

The panoramic X-ray and the CT scan (CBCT) are taken at the clinic, at the same visit as your consultation. The panoramic X-ray shows the whole mouth at a glance and is the starting point for any plan. The CT scan shows the bone in three dimensions, before an implant or a complicated root canal treatment.

Microscope and laser

The microscope is used for root canal treatments. It magnifies the area several times, so the dentist can see the narrow canals and cracks that the naked eye misses.

The laser is used for minor procedures on the gums.

What Dentistry 2.0 means

Dentistry 2.0 is the name we give to the way we work to keep teeth: scanning instead of impressions, digital planning of the restoration, a microscope for root canals, a lab in the building. In short, the tools that let us treat a tooth instead of taking it out, and build the restoration on it in a few days.
